Kr Magma Space Events in China

In January we launched the Sin0-Latin America Accelerator with Kr Space, one of the largest coworking spaces in China. We created initiative with Kr Space to help Latin Americans understand how they can leverage the Chinese market and for Chinese entrepreneurs and investors to better understand how they can do business in Latin America.

Since then, we’ve created monthly events with Kr Space to highlight individual countries and opportunities available to entrepreneurs and investors in each country. We’ve held events at Kr Space in Shanghai and Beijing, and at Latin American Embassies in Beijing. Here’s an overview of the Kr-Magma Space events in China so far this year.

January – Kr-Magma Space Launch, Kr-Magma Space, Shanghai
On Jan. 22, we debuted Kr-Magma Space, the Sino-LatAm startup accelerator, at Kr Space in Xujiahui District of Shanghai. Attendees included: Tiesong Jia from China International Youth Exchange Center, Luz Gudiño from General Consulate of the Republic of Colombia in Shanghai, Alejandro Montelongo from General Consulate of the the United Mexican States in Shanghai, Hongkai Chen from Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Hong Tang from Xujiahui District Science and Technology Commission, Peng Zhong and Bo Dong from Kr Space and Nathan Lustig and Jie Hao from Magma partners.
Mexico: China-Latin America Innovation Year, InnoWay Office, Beijing
In March at the K Zhongguancun InnoWay office in Beijing, we launched the China-Latin America Innovation Year and hosted our first event focused on Mexico, one of Latin America’s giants. The event was supported by ProMexico, China International Youth Exchange Center, Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, Party Committee and Global Innovation Community of Zhongguancun InnoWay, Youth Federation of Beijing Haidian District and Beijing Overseas Chinese Return Association. Over 40 Chinese companies participated.

Viva Brazil: China-Latin America Innovation Year, Kr-Magma Space, Shanghai

We had our second country specific event, Viva Brazil, in Shanghai, in April which was supported by the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in China, Yingke Foreign Service, Dacheng Law Firm, Zhitong Accounting Firm, SCapital, and Yufang Consulting Firm.

Chile: China-Latin America Innovation Year, Chilean Embassy, Beijing
In May we hosted the 3rd country event, focused on Chile, at the Embassy of Chile in Beijing. Attendees included Jaime Chomail, Chilean Ambassador to China; Andreas Pierotic, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chilean Embassy in China; Fei Gong, Deputy Secretary of Haidian District Youth League Committee;  Lizhu Su, General Secretary of Haidian District Youth League; Yang Feng, Deputy Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Committee of Overseas Exchange Association; Yanlin Xu, Deputy Director of the Belt and Road Business Unit of International Youth Exchange Center; Jun Wang, Deputy Head of the Belt and Road Business Unit of China International Youth Exchange Center; Ke Chen, Public Relations Manager of Holla; Yonghan Shen, CEO of Hongzhan Group; and Jie Hao from Magma Partners.

China-Latin America Youth Leaders Venture Capital Exchange – Shanghai

In July, a delegation of young Latin American leaders from Brazil, Argentina and Mexico visited Kr Space upon invitation of China Youth Federation and participated in 2018 China-Latin America Youth Leaders Venture Capital Exchange. This trip is one of the Latin American Innovation Year activities, and an important component of the 4th “Future Bridge”, an exchange camp that facilitates communications between Chinese and Latin American young leaders.

Guests included Ziyuan Liu, Deputy Director of International Department under China Youth Federation; Chuan Xu Chuan, Deputy Director of Cultural and Sports Division of China International Youth Exchange Center; Liu Yu, Deputy General Secretary of Center for China and Globalization; officials from embassies of Latin American countries; Peng Zhong and Bo Dong from Kr Space; and Jie Hao from Magma Partners.
